Solomon Page launched SP Cares in 2020, a charitable initiative that supports those in need. In recent years, Solomon Page has identified various non-profit organizations to contribute to throughout the year, whether that is through donations, sponsorships, or participating in local events. By applying our core values of trust, respect, and compassion, we advocate for diverse communities both in our neighborhood and worldwide. In 2024, we have partnered with several organizations, many of which have been referred to Solomon Page by internal employees:
Mount Sinai Prostate Cancer Research Gala
SP Cares made a donation to the Mount Sinai Prostate Cancer Research Gala. The organization's annual gala and initiatives aim to unite scientists, clinicians, patients, and supporters to speed up progress in prostate cancer research. Through funding research and educational programs, they seek to improve patient outcomes, enhance quality of life, and ultimately find a cure. The gala also honors those dedicated to fighting prostate cancer and provides networking, advocacy, and philanthropic opportunities within the community.
SP Cares raised funds for The King Center. The King Center's mission is to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King through education, activism, and advocacy for justice, equality, and nonviolent social change. They inspire communities to embrace Dr. King's principles of love, nonviolence, and reconciliation for a fairer world. Through initiatives, they empower people to address social issues, promote civil and human rights, and bridge divides across race and culture. Aiming to foster dialogue and empathy, The King Center embodies Dr. King's vision of a beloved community where every person is valued.
SP Cares donated to Girls Inc. This leadership organization empowers girls across the nation to embody strength, intelligence, and boldness. Envisioning a society that is fair, just, and inclusive for everyone, Girls Inc. is making a meaningful difference in girls' lives by fostering confidence and enhancing skills through mentorship programs and advocacy efforts. In addition to fundraising efforts, Solomon Page had the opportunity to interview Marcel Van Ooyen, CEO of GrowNYC, to learn more about the organization’s mission and raise awareness for environmental and food insecurity concerns that not only impact New York City but are amplified nationwide.
SP Cares made a donation to St. Jude. Internationally recognized as a leader in eliminating childhood cancer, St. Jude began with the goal of extending the lives of children, enabling them to thrive. SP Cares supported the V Foundation through fundraising efforts. Founded in 1993 by ESPN, and basketball coach and sports broadcaster, Jim Valvano, the V Foundation has become a leading advocate for innovative cancer research. While cancer has touched the lives of many, it does not define an individual's journey. This cause is close to the Solomon Page community’s hearts, as one of our colleagues, Managing Director of the Clinical Resource Network division at Solomon Page, is currently undergoing cancer treatment. As an organization, we are united to support funding for cancer research that creates more treatment options for the millions of individuals fighting cancer today.
Close to the Solomon Page community, Tunnel to Towers has been a part of the SP Cares initiative for several years. A non-profit helping American heroes nationwide, Tunnel to Towers has been essential to providing mortgage-free homes to fallen active military service member families, often referred to as Gold Star families. In addition to fundraising for the organization, Solomon Page participated in the annual Tunnel to Towers 5K in New York City.
SP Cares supported the ALS United Greater New York foundation by participating in fundraising efforts and spotlighting their walk. With a national scope, the mission of ALS United Greater New York focuses on groundbreaking research and advocacy for ALS, while also providing support and comprehensive care for individuals affected by this neurodegenerative disease. Established in the 1990s, the foundation became an independent entity in 2023, continuing its commitment to delivering high-quality care and impactful programs. Their collaborative efforts have reached over 1,000 families across the country, partnering with 14 affiliate nonprofit organizations.
SP Cares donated to Project Street Vet. This organization is a remarkable non-profit offering complimentary veterinary services to the pets of those facing homelessness or housing insecurity. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Kwane Stewart, the organization works to maintain the essential human-animal bond through street care, mobile clinics, and financial aid for critical treatments. With a mission rooted in compassion, Project Street Vet strives to inspire volunteers and expand its services, creating a lasting impact for both pets and their owners.
SP Cares contributed a donation to the Only Make Believe 25th Annual Gala on Broadway. Only Make Believe’s mission is to foster emotional and social growth in children facing illness and disabilities through the transformative power of immersive theatre. Held on October 28th at St. James Theatre, the gala featured an inspiring evening of performances by Broadway actors, celebrating those who champion interactive theatre programs in facilities, hospitals, and schools nationwide. This impactful event raised essential funds for ongoing advocacy, helping to establish an environment that values inclusion, openness, and participation for children with disabilities and medical impairments.
