Originally established in 2020, Solomon Page launched SP Cares, a charitable initiative that supported relief efforts of individuals that were impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2020, Solomon Page has continued to grow and evolve the SP Cares initiative – all with the goal of supporting those in need. In recent years, Solomon Page has identified various non-profit organizations to support throughout the year, whether that is through donations, sponsorships, or participating in local events. By applying our core values of trust, respect, and compassion, we advocate for diverse communities both in our neighborhood and worldwide. In 2023, we have partnered with several organizations, many of which have been referred to Solomon Page by internal employees:

Shatterproof

Our fundraiser for Shatterproof, a national organization committed to ending addiction through advocacy and educational resources, was widely successful and opened many conversations within our organization. In addition to fundraising efforts, Solomon Page had the opportunity to interview Lauren Lawson-Zilai, Senior Director, Media and Public Relations for Shatterproof, to learn more about the organization’s mission and in turn, help spread awareness.

The DezyStrong Foundation

Our fundraiser for The DezyStrong Foundation, an organization that creates experiences for individuals with cancer to maintain a positive mentality, was successful and began dialogue within our teams. In addition to our fundraiser, Solomon Page had the opportunity to interview Bryan Kuhl on the Board of Directors from The DezyStrong Foundation to discuss the organization’s mission, events, and advocacy.

Tunnel to Towers

Close to the Solomon Page community, Tunnel to Towers has been a part of the SP Cares initiative for several years. A non-profit helping American heroes nationwide, Tunnel to Towers has been essential to providing mortgage-free homes to fallen active military service member families, often referred to as Gold Star families. In addition to fundraising for the organization throughout the months of May and June, Solomon Page spoke with Andrew McClure, Senior Manager of Development to discuss the organization’s upcoming events, mission, and advocacy across the country.

Ali Forney Center

The SP Cares June and July Fundraiser raised funds for the Ali Forney Center. Headquartered in New York City, the Ali Forney Center was founded in 2002 in memory of Ali Forney, a non-binary youth who was tragically murdered while living on the streets. In addition to fundraising for the organization throughout the months of June and July, Solomon Page spoke with Alexander Roque, President & Executive Director at the Ali Forney Center, about the organization’s work and upcoming events in New York City.

Maui Food Bank & Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s Kākoʻo Maui Fund

The current SP Cares fundraiser is raising funds for individuals impacted by the wildfires in Hawaii. Our focus on regional organizations within the Maui area will directly aid individuals impacted by the recent wildfires. The Maui Food Bank and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s Kākoʻo Maui Fund are organizations actively supporting residents, local business owners, and the environment in the central and western regions of Maui.

Stay tuned for additional SP Cares announcements in the coming months!
